About Maxit Education

MaxIT Publishing, Inc. believes that the growth of the educational market for electronic and printed books presents many opportunities for authors, publishers, educators, administrators, students, parents, librarians, and other interested parties. The advent of the internet in the educational publishing field, and the melding of traditional and new publishing and marketing techniques, create numerous benefits and advantages for all concerned without a single detriment.

Information is a principal element of any educational system, and the efficient and timely transfer of such information to educators, administrators, librarians, and the subsequent transmission and processing of that information to students, the targeted group, is essential if the educational system is to grow and succeed. The growth of student populations, the publication of more books, the need for additional facilities, financing the construction of new facilities and acquisition of books to meet these growth patterns, present unique problems for the educational system.

Traditional means of information transfer have been slow, laborious, oftentimes expensive, and occasionally off-the-mark. The same techniques have been employed for the past half-century. Traditionally, printed books have been the primary bearers of such information. However, catalogs, book reviews, trade shows, and similar means of introducing new, and sometimes old, books to interested parties, the means previously employed, is at best inefficient and, at worst, non-functional. It will only get worse in the future. Catalogs provide limited information – a cover, sentence about author, and cursory summary. Trade shows allow limited time for cursory reviews of books. The proper use of the internet to present the materials required, and to effectively disseminate the information, will cure many of these defects in the existing system.

The internet allows publishers to notify potential buyers about new (and old) titles. Buyers can see considerably more about any given title on the internet than they could ever see in a catalog. They can review the book at their leisure, and not rely on a cursory review at trade shows. And most importantly, the publication of books electronically provides several benefits not previously attainable. First, one can look at the book, review, search and annotate its content, printed relevant portions, and measure its potential value, without leaving the home, the classroom or the office. There is no delay. The review can be limited or exhaustive, of portions of the book or of the entire content. And the purchase of the printed book, and its attendant cost, does not take place until the review of the electronic version is complete.

MaxIt will employ its internet expertise in publishing e-books for authors and other publishers, and will then market such e-books and their p-book counterparts to potential buyers. Excerpts of the books will be available on MaxIt’s web site for online review or for downloads. The e-books, in various formats, will be sold at a fraction of the cost of a p-book. The books will be marketed proactively by MaxIt on the internet. And, most importantly from the buyer’s standpoint, if the buyer elects to purchase the printed version of the book, the buyer will receive a substantial discount of the price paid for the e-book. In effect, this will enable educational buyers to have a virtual free-look, and purchase two products for the price of one: the e-book, with the capabilities inherent in a computer for searching, annotating, and printing pages, and the printed version of the book.

MaxIt intends to enter into joint ventures with other publishers for the purpose of facilitating and improving this transfer of information, and the ultimate result will be enhanced student learning, and more productive educators and administrators.

MaxIt has direct access into schools, both pubic and private, preschool, though University. Maxit will find the best potential markets for a given book. If a book’s subject matter relates to California History, Improving Secondary Student Reading, Teaching Colors to Pre-schoolers, or anything related to the educational field, MaxIT will get that title into the hands of those who review the works, make the book-buying decisions, and ultimately use the books, thereby allowing the efficient transfer of new and innovative materials and enhancing the flow of information for all concerned.
