Main Differences between a Home PC and a Business PC

There aren’t a lot of homes today that don’t have some sort of computer within. Many students need computers like laptops to access data, complete homework and have their assignments with them at all times. Homes use computers to pay bills, send and receive emails, shop and search for information.

A business PC is used primarily to hold records of invoices, back up important data and to network with other businesses. These are just a few of the main differences and types of computers today. Let’s take a look more into the business PC.

Since the business computer is going to differ from the normal laptop and home computer, it is likely going to be equipped with certain hardware and software features that are meant specifically for businesses.

Most of the general hardware resources will be the same, but it isn’t likely to have a video card on it meant for video games or a large, wide screen display for movie watching. It might include a scanner to scan business documents and have more USB ports to upload and download data more conveniently.

Besides the physical hardware differences, the main differences will lie in the software. A business PC will need to have software like Microsoft Office installed. This will give the business man or woman access to Power Point, Excel, Word and other important business software. This will allow them to create presentations and documents as well as view spreadsheet files and track their budget expenditures.

Last but not least, a business PC needs to have more in the way of security than a home PC. This will protect their business investments as well as customer data and other information.
