ooks are seductive. Take a close look at people milling through the aisles of a bookstore and tell me it is anything less than lust—the passion for a good story, an enchanting tale, a frightening reality. It begins with a glance... the cover! Colorful and provocative, yes? Then the enticing title, ... A Tale of Two Cities... The Hunt for Red October... The Brethren... even Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Then contact... running your finger along the edge of the book, grasping the story with both hands to feel the weight... even the scent of new pages is alluring. You turn the page, let’s see what you’re really made of. The characters... the plot... Ten minutes later, you’re cradling the book in your arms mumbling that you have to get this now... today! That’s the portrait of a bibliophile.

So America loves books, but what most people don’t know is the tremendous crib death of great stories. That’s to say, many authors never get enough, let alone any, promotional support for their written newborn.

The story ends up in the graveyard before the public has a chance to fall in love with it. How many L’Amores, Mitchners, Steinbecks or Stones crafted powerful stories only to see them die in the graveyard of zero promotion?

That’s why Maxit Publishing came together. Our publishing name says it all—others simply publish, but we maximize it by providing the book in all available print, electronic and audio formats and by delivering the right stories to those who want to read and enjoy that particular tale. By displaying and promoting books on the Internet in ways never seen before we couple the author with his or her audience in an effective, cutting-edge process.

At Maxit we publish so great authors can be heard, tantalizing titles seen, and wonderful books read. After all, everyone deserves to travel to a another planet, solve a murder mystery, discover a new world, meet a monster, time travel, save Earth from worldwide destruction, be caught in the web of a political conspiracy, and to fall in love through books.

Maxit’s reading ménage à trois—the author, the story and you.
